Founders of Qianye Jewelry, a Couple, Go Missing; Beijing Headquarters Deserted
In September, the founders — a married couple — of Qianye Jewelry, a gold and jewelry brand with more than 200 self-operated stores nationwide, went missing. The Beijing headquarters was left deserted, product listings in stores on multiple e-commerce platforms were emptied or taken down, employees were owed unpaid wages, and the rights-defense group already had more than 60 members.
