On October 28, during a PPD skin test screening for tuberculosis organized by Kangping County High School in Shenyang, Liaoning, it was verified that multiple students shared the same needle. The school administration proposed arranging tests for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C for the affected students.

After the shared needle incident was exposed, a large number of parents rushed to Kangping County High School to protest and negotiate, questioning the risk of infection and demanding in unison that the school release surveillance footage, while expressing dissatisfaction with the school's initial plan to conduct blood tests.
