According to a report by The Beijing News on November 5, Lu Dengdi, a cadre in Fanjiazhuang Township, Quyang County, Hebei Province, stabbed a villager who was trying to mediate a dispute and then went into hiding for about 15 years. During this period, he illegally received over 1.4 million yuan in wages and was promoted to a second-level chief staff member in 2019.
