On October 6, patriotic influencer Luke Wen posted on Weibo, praising the Chinese Communist Party's achievements over the past 20 years in anti-corruption, strengthening the military, and poverty alleviation, while describing China between 1992 and 2012 as rife with corruption, chaotic in public security, and a place where everyone feared for their own safety.
Hu Xijin posted a rebuttal to Lu Kewen, pointing out that his absolute description of those twenty years diverges greatly from common sense and the official narrative, and questioning his public denial of the era of rapid economic growth, accession to the WTO, and the first hosting of the Olympic Games; Lu Kewen responded that Hu was merely expressing personal views and called on netizens not to fan the flames.
Lu Kewen posted that, excluding rural elderly, China's pensions are higher than those in Japan, South Korea, and France when calculated by the ratio of national income, and argued that this situation puts excessive pressure on public finance and will inevitably lead to comprehensive cuts in the future.
On July 27, 2026, well-known online blogger Lu Kewen pointed out that China's finances can hardly sustain current pension expenditures and predicted that they would inevitably be cut across the board in the future; shortly after the remarks were published, they were taken down and deleted by the platform.
After Lu Kewen publicly discussed the pension gap in China and the issue of pensions for those inside the system, his Weibo account was 404'd.
On December 5, well-known Little Pink blogger Lu Kewen published an article titled "China Is Preparing for War Against Japan" on his WeChat public account, claiming that China has already begun systematic preparations at the levels of public opinion, legality and military force, and that China and Russia are capable of handling a two-front war; the article was subsequently taken down, and on December 8 his WeChat public account was banned.
