On September 8, Tung Chee-hwa, the first Chief Executive of Hong Kong, passed away at the age of 89. After resigning as Chief Executive in 2005 on the grounds of a footache, Tung Chee-hwa transferred to serve as Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
