In response to former U.S. President Trump publicly voicing support for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, former Israeli Chief of Staff and current lawmaker Gadi Eisenkot responded. Eisenkot stressed that the outcome of Israel's elections should be decided by Israeli citizens alone, in reply to outside interference in Israel's internal affairs. According to Clash Report, the remarks were intended to reaffirm Israel's independence in electoral matters and to distance itself from statements by external political forces.
