On December 18, 2024, New York Chinese resident Chen Jinping pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiring to act as an unregistered agent of the Chinese government, participating in assisting the operation of an overseas police station of the Fuzhou Public Security Bureau set up in Manhattan's Chinatown.
