On August 21, the High Court of Hong Kong ruled that the disbanded Alliance and its former chairman Lee Cheuk-yan and former vice-chairwoman Chow Hang-tung were guilty of incitement to subvert state power; another former vice-chairman, Albert Ho, had earlier pleaded guilty. The three will attend a mitigation hearing on the 28th, and under the Hong Kong National Security Law the maximum penalty is ten years' imprisonment.
