According to Radio-Canada International (RCI), the U.S. Navy is currently carrying out the largest construction project in its history at the Pearl Harbor-Hickam joint military base in Hawaii. The project aims to strengthen military deterrence against China by reinvesting in naval infrastructure. Despite U.S. President Trump having hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington last month, construction at the base has not been affected and continues to move forward.
