According to a notice from the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran, a cargo ship carrying more than 2500 containers struck a mine while attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz via an unauthorized route. The vessel caught fire and sank in the southern part of the strait on the morning of Wednesday (October 14).
