On September 29, a Douyin blogger posted a video saying that products that don’t allow reviews shouldn’t be bought and brands that don’t allow questioning shouldn’t be touched. No brand was named, but Huawei, HarmonyOS, and “far ahead” kept appearing in the bullet comments, while netizens in the comments section criticized equating not buying a certain brand with being unpatriotic as moral coercion.
