Nature Retracts Two Papers Involving Academic Misconduct from Tongji University and Nankai University; Both Universities Discipline Those Responsible

On July 30, 2026, Nature and Nature Cancer simultaneously retracted two papers involving academic misconduct from Tongji University and Nankai University. Tongji's corresponding author Wang Ping was removed from the position of dean and demoted, while first author Jin Jiali was dismissed; Nankai's corresponding author Chen Quan was removed from the position of dean and demoted, and first author Zheng had their employment terminated.
