Media reports say that in Jiayuguan, Gansu, a 14-year-old student was handed over by his parents to a non-professional surnamed Zhao, who had a criminal record, for discipline. Zhao and others took the boy to the Gobi Desert and a residence, where they beat him, causing hemorrhagic shock and asphyxiation that led to his death.
