A-Quan, a Shenzhen resident and former armed police officer, was tricked by a man speaking with a Fujian accent into going to a telecom fraud park in Myanmar in 2021. Because he refused to carry out fraud, he was subjected to physical punishment. He later escaped at night and sought help from the Chinese embassy, but received no response.
