On October 29, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted to prohibit Chinese laboratories from providing testing and certification for mobile phones, cameras, computers, and other electronic devices exported to the US. FCC Chair Carr stated that in 2025, 82% of such devices were tested in China, while US-based labs handled only about 4%. Previously, the ban only targeted labs owned or controlled by the Chinese government, but this action expands the scope to all Chinese laboratories.
