On the evening of August 12, 2026, a large number of Guizhou natives living in Guangdong gathered outside the gate of Chaoying Experimental Middle School in Foshan, Guangdong, holding banners in protest. The trigger was that after the school's football team won a championship in a tournament in Guizhou, a 17-year-old player publicly posted provocative and insulting remarks about Guizhou people online.
