Tsinghua University Professor Lao Dongyan Publishes Article Publicly Opposing Rollout of Internet ID, Faces Nationwide Post Deletion

In late July 2024, Lao Dongyan, a professor at Tsinghua University's Law School, published an article openly questioning the network number and network certificate system that the Ministry of Public Security and the Cyberspace Administration of China plan to introduce, arguing that it is essentially the normalization of Health Kit surveillance. The article was swiftly wiped out across the entire internet.
