What does the report say next? Single-visit passes, small class packages, and short-term cards have become the mainstream. This is not a new business model for enterprises; it's the fact that the entire population of the CCP's China is afraid to spend too much money at once.

So, Gym Director, the 'fresh' things you see in China—small shops, self-service, not needing to hire so many coaches, short-term cards—are popular there not because they are better at doing business, but because their customers can no longer afford annual memberships (compared to previous years); there is consumption deflation. You don't deny that China is experiencing consumption deflation and downgrading, do you? You are actually using an economy with consumption downgrading and deflation as a reference for Taiwan's vibrant economy; I have a question mark there. No wonder you've made such a mess of things.

Taiwan's population is only 23 million, you should know that, right? A few days ago, our Taiwan, the Republic of China's stock market capitalization, officially surpassed the UK's, ranking fourth in the world. You know the top three have populations of over 100 million. The first place has a population, and its market cap is nearly 4 times that of China's, while the US population is only over 300 million; China ranks second, and its market cap is 1/4 of the US, but China's population is 1.4 billion. And Japan has a population of over 100 million, ranking third. We are the only one with a population of only 20 million to rank fourth.

So I really don't know why Taiwanese people always feel that they are inferior. People in Europe and America would say, "You are actually great, no need to compare, everyone has their own strengths." But us Taiwanese, did we inherit the genes from the CCP? Just saying, "Look at the neighbor's kid, why can't you do what they do? The neighbor's kid is better, why aren't you? Go learn from them, okay?" Why are we always like this, from the young to the old? Always looking down on our own children, or looking down on our own parents, or looking down on ourselves? Would Western education teach them like that? No. So our achievements are already there, what more do you want? Go ask Peng Liyuan.

You really want to learn from the CCP and the little pinks, or do you want to learn from the US and Japan? The CCP's total volume is entirely piled up by "human mines." So, perhaps not being able to hire a coach is truly a pain in Guan Chang's heart, but I think the bigger variable might be you? But everyone, what was the state of the country he visited? In the first half of 2026, China's GDP grew by 4.7%, while the total retail sales of consumer goods only grew by 1.3% year-on-year. So Guan Chang, this just compares to the annual membership cards I mentioned. Forget it, you won't understand this. Even if you did, would you be tens of millions or hundreds of millions in debt? Banks want to lend you money, but you don't borrow because you know you can't pay it back, you don't need it, and you don't dare to start a business. The number of people using credit card consumer loans is decreasing, and once this pattern shrinks, the economy will slowly become stagnant water, right? This is extremely rare in Chinese history. Consumption's contribution to GDP has fallen from 52% to just 43%.

So Guan Chang says he can't hire people in Taiwan due to the low birth rate, which might be true, but he went to inspect the CCP's country, where two or three thousand gyms close every year, membership has dropped by three or four million, May's sales were negative growth, and ordinary people don't even dare to borrow money, let alone engage in long-term consumption.

There is one more thing, dug up by ETtoday. The landlord of the Kaohsiung branch had already put it up for sale for 480 million last year. The staff at the time emphasized that the contract would remain the same, but now, about 5 years after opening, it is confirmed to be shutting down. I don't know if these two things are related, and I won't guess blindly. I just think that the reason for closing a store is usually not just one simple thing, right? And Guan Chang actually used "I saw something novel in China" as a reason; that's probably one of the most bizarre reasons of all.

He said, "As for the equipment in our flagship store, I've decided to auction it off and clear it out, selling it cheaply to everyone to benefit the general public."
