The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed the Protecting American Industry and Labor from International Trade Crimes Act, requiring the Department of Justice to establish a task force to investigate and prosecute trade crimes, including those involving Chinese companies.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced that Thomas Will Boken II, a U.S. citizen living and working in China, was sentenced to two years in prison for acting as an agent of a foreign government on U.S. soil, followed by three years of supervised release after completing his sentence.

The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission issued a fact sheet assessing China's support for Russia and the development of the China-Russia partnership.

Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Yin Hejun, China's Minister of Science and Technology, held talks in North Carolina.
