Swiss FIFA Museum Vividly Presents World Cup History
The FIFA Museum in Zurich, Switzerland, vividly presents the history of football, especially the World Cup, through a series of interactive exhibits and historical artifacts. The most iconic exhibition area of the FIFA Museum in Zurich is called the Rainbow. With its colorful design, it symbolizes the status of football as the world's number one sport. In the Rainbow area, you can see the national team jerseys of FIFA's 211 member associations. They are arranged in a kaleidoscopic array of colors, extending from orange and yellow all the way to blue, green, and red. There, you can see the U.S. team's jersey with its wavy red and white stripes.
The museum states that since its opening in 2016, it has received over 2 million visitors. The largest exhibition hall in the museum is dedicated to the history of the World Cup, dating back to the first men's World Cup in 1930.
Visitors to the FIFA Museum told me that coming here during the World Cup has special significance for them. Sebastian Bermudez is one of four visitors from Guatemala. They shared their experience of visiting the extraordinary exhibits.
My favorite part is learning about the history of the jerseys, such as how jersey numbers came about and what they mean.
