The US military stated that 10 Iranian oil tankers have been destroyed since September 1, five of which were sunk on Tuesday in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, and two others were destroyed on September 1. The US side claimed that these vessels belong to a shadow network providing funds for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran.
