US Transportation Security Administration Lifts General Shoe Removal Requirement at Airport Security Checkpoints Nationwide

In July 2025, the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) lifted the general requirement for shoe removal at airport security checkpoints nationwide. However, some airports continue to enforce this rule, and restrictions on liquids in carry-on baggage remain in place.
