这信念,源自金庸笔下《神雕侠侣》中杨过的侠义精神,源自《射雕英雄传》里郭靖的家国情怀;

源自《拯救大兵瑞恩》中浴血奋战的牺牲精神,源自《阿甘正传》里那份执着与善良;

源自中国抗日战场上“一寸山河一寸血,十万青年十万兵”的悲壮誓言;

源自华盛顿特区朝鲜战争纪念碑上镌刻的警世铭言——“Freedom Is Not Free”(自由不是免费的);

源自我曾为之热血沸腾的新闻理想,对自由主义的追求;

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”(邪恶得以胜利的唯一条件,就是好人什么都不做。)

The Tragedy of Justice: When the World No Longer Defends Righteousness

Professor Qin Hui once said: "If Putin’s annexation of Crimea is justifiable, then Hitler had a hundred times more justification to annex Sudetenland a thousand times over. If one cannot see the right and wrong in the Russia-Ukraine war, then no concept of right and wrong exists in this world anymore. Among all acts of aggression in history, none has been more unreasonable than Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In this regard, Putin has surpassed Hitler… There are ten thousand reasons to condemn Russia, yet not a single one to defend it!"

Indeed, many people still fail to understand why there is such outrage against the prospect of a U.S.-Russia reconciliation. The reason, however, is simple. To borrow the words of Gu Yanwu: For Ukraine, failure means national extinction; but for the world, a successful U.S.-Russia reconciliation means the death of civilization itself.

What Is Civilization?

Civilization is not just about borders and territories—it is about the moral principles we uphold, the values we defend, and the universal beliefs we share.

When aggression is tolerated, when justice is reduced to a mere bargaining chip, when freedom is deemed expendable—what will remain in this world? If "civilization" can be so easily sold out, then all the ideals once defended with blood and sacrifice will become nothing more than empty words.

The loss of a nation is merely the loss of land. But the loss of civilization means the regression of humanity, the erosion of moral distinctions, and a world where power and violence reign supreme.

This is not just about Ukraine's fate—it concerns the future of everyone.

This goes far beyond partisan disputes. It is not merely about interests, but a fundamental conflict of values.

The Misguided Contempt for Morality

Today, when people hear the word "morality," many scoff, even mockingly dismissing it: "What use is morality? In the end, only interests matter." But have they truly grasped reality?

Morality is not an empty slogan—it is a shield that protects everyone. It protects the rich and the poor; it protects politicians and workers alike; it safeguards police officers and beggars.

Without morality, no one is safe.

Those who look down on morality, who mock it, may not realize that it is precisely the people who fight for morality that are silently safeguarding their security and dignity. If no one stands for morality, then one day, they will personally experience what it means to lose it all.

Beyond Politics: The Struggle Between Justice and Evil

By now, the debate over supporting or opposing Trump is no longer just about politics or ideological differences. It is about the fundamental choice between justice and evil. It reflects one’s stance on aggression and dictatorship.

For ordinary people, what matters is not grand political narratives, but whether the world still operates under a just and fair order.

Do not assume that having some wealth exempts you from being an "ordinary person." In my view, unless one's fortune exceeds a billion dollars or one sits at the pinnacle of the political hierarchy, one remains an ordinary person. Power is always relative—I have seen many wealthy elites and high-ranking officials who, when crushed by an even greater force, are as powerless as the common people pleading outside government offices.

This is why I despise totalitarianism—it forces everyone, rich or poor, to live under the shadow of fear.

Defending the Moral Order

The foundation of a just world order is the mainstream values of civilization. This is what we call moral justice.

Without this moral justice, we will all live in an increasingly dangerous world. Look at the Ukrainians who have been invaded, slaughtered, and raped—you will understand. Look at the North Koreans who are treated like slaves and massacred—you will understand.

The belief that "it’s not my concern" is a self-deceptive fantasy. Darkness does not stop at distant lands; it will eventually creep upon those who remain silent.

Why I Criticize Trump

I criticize Trump not to defend the interests of any single country, but to defend my unwavering beliefs and to uphold the moral values that this world should maintain.

My convictions stem from:

The chivalry of Yang Guo in The Return of the Condor Heroes, and the patriotism of Guo Jing in The Legend of the Condor Heroes. The self-sacrifice and resilience in Saving Private Ryan, and the persistence and kindness in Forrest Gump. The wartime spirit of China’s resistance against Japan, where "every inch of land was paid for in blood, and every young soul became a soldier." The solemn warning inscribed on the Korean War Memorial in Washington, D.C.: "Freedom Is Not Free." The journalistic ideals I once passionately pursued, and my commitment to liberalism. The famous words of Irish statesman Edmund Burke: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." We Cannot Turn a Blind Eye to Evil

As ordinary people, how can we stand idly by in the face of evil?

To remain silent is to allow the world to descend into chaos and darkness. The erosion of justice does not happen overnight—it is built upon countless moments of silence, countless compromises, and countless instances of "it’s none of my business."

And when darkness finally consumes order and destroys freedom, we will realize that the victims are not just people in a distant land, but ourselves as well.

Because the fate of ordinary people is never isolated. We may believe we can stay out of it, but in the end, the flames that reach our doorstep are often the very ones we chose to ignore.

We cannot simply wait for others to act. We must stand up and be the light that fights against darkness, the beacon that upholds justice.

Because in this world, the ones who truly change history are not those who submit to the darkness, but those who dare to resist and hold on to their conscience.
